I've never downloaded/used a bot or hack ever, so I don't have a clear idea of how they work. But I get the idea how you bind them. My friend plays Counter-Strike, and I remember going to his house to watch him play, and he was using a wallhack, his Caps Lock button would toggle it. I thought it was kind of funny. Back when I played in the 1.11/1.16n world, hacking/botting was always around and it was always a problem. So many people have aimbots, autoaims, wallhacks, speedhacks, and various other hacks. The hack people used to ALWAYS accuse me of having was the speedhack, because you know me, I'm so damn fast. But that's just my style of Quake, I fly around, everyone has their own style of Quake. I'm not like most other experienced players who don't run around much but shoot and hit everything in their sight. Or like gomes/Jordon, who can do both. But when I moved to 1.32 with the PB installation, hacking/botting seems to be almost nonexistent. Although, if there is someone using a bot, it's pretty easy to spot. You remember that demo I sent you of that aimbot user? The aim just looks too perfect to look like it's controlled by a human had, it looks bot-like.

As for "spawn hacks," I've never heard of that before. If you're talking about a spawn hack being a bot that automatically shoots a respawned player, then it's probably just an aimbot. A lot of the really good 1v1 DM players spam at spawn points during the two second zombie time after they frag their opponent. You'll see me do it in CTF sometimes too.

Yeah, but I was bored. It would have been nice if he stuck around. I would have loved to give him pointers. Like set it to always run for starters Shocked Yeah, it is like a compliment, but some guys get so sure of themselves. They just can't believe someone can be that good. I've accused a couple of people of cheating in my day, but that was only after specin them to be sure.

When I first started, there was allot of people saying that someone was using a bot, so I went out and found one to see what it was all about. I tryed it out on servers with only bots, and boy can you tell. If you ever spec'd a bot, it's kinda like that. It just looks wrong. Then I found a wall hack, now that I did play on some servers with people. That was kinda funny. You can see the award above your opponents head all the time and you can see it through walls. Of course none of it worked after the next update, I think it was back in 1.27 days. The one thing that made an aimbot obvious is that it targets the closest player no-matter what team. So if someone was using it they would have to use a keybind to turn on and off, otherwise it tracks your teamates. Dead givaway. Especially when players cross paths, it follows the closest even if you where after the flag carrier and your team mate crossed with him, it would follow your team mate if he ends up being the closest.

I haven't heard of any bots working with PB, so I don't even wonder about players anymore. I've played long enough to tell anyways. It's not hard to spot, so I don't bother. Although I wonder somethimes about a spawn cheat, but I guess some people take the time to memorize the spawn patterns and know where your going to spawn. I never bothered.

So this guy had his movement settings with auto-running off? Now that's a real noob. I've been accused of cheating probably hundred of times. Once, out of all the newbies out there, by a guy using keyboard only. It was hilarious to watch and spectate him trying to shoot people with keyboard only. As for me, I've learned over the years to take "cheat accusations" as compliments. I'm sure that made you're night, hu?

I just got accused of cheating again. Surprised I just had to laugh. I think this guy even had it on walk. So he was soooo slow and predictable it was funny. I could launch a rocket and sit back and watch him walk into it and he would say I was cheating. I guess when it's 1v1 I should scale it back a bit to make it fun or they say "cheater" and leave. Oh well.
