| Ah, so the DVD came out now? I'm happy enough with being able to "experience" the Doom movie once. However, I'm not going to pay money to buy the DVD/VHS. I only spend my money on movies that I feel I would watch from time to time. I didn't think Doom was one of those kinds of movies. |

| Well, the Doom movie is out on video, and my Wife got it for me. I watched it tonight and it was pretty good. A few parts got me a little lost. Maybe cuz I was looking for parallels with the game and not letting the movie tell the story. The first person section was sweet. I liked how they fit it in. Seemed perfectly normal to see it through his eyes. A few corny parts, and the usual, "you dumb shit, don't go off by yourself" parts, but all in all it was pretty good. |

Okay... I finally got to see the Doom movie. I thought it was O.K. but not good. I didn't like how they changed the story and plot. For example, they completely changed the origins of the monsters of where they really came from. Also for the first person shooter scenes towards the end of the movie, after Reaper was injected with some "megahealth" I thought they should've used that throughout the movie, rather than just one scene of it in the end. They also needed to make that first person shooter scene faster paced. It looked too fake and cheesy.
Overall, the movie was able to keep me in my seat, but didn't make me screaming for more. |

10/30/05 - I just got back from seeing the ]||) (()) (()) ]|\/|[ movie. I thought they did a nice job converting the story and environment of the game onto the big screen. It seems a lot of what comes from Universal Studios has some cheese factor, and a video game movie from them might be even worse. Take it for what it is and it's pretty good. They say if you're a fan of the game then you'll like the movie and I'd say that's an accurate sumation, at least in my case.
Two of the doctors are named Carmack and Willits, I thought that was cool. Were there any other names you noticed? They should have paid some homage to John Romero too. They renamed the BFG (Bio Force Gun or something like that), but Sarge later said the proper name we all know it by. I like how it switched to the first person sequence after Reaper got the transformation injection from his sister, as if his senses were heightened.
Did you guys see it? What did you think? |

Yea, I want to see it also. It's tough tryin to find stories for the front page. I have a few sites I check for news, but it would be nice if I had some members (besides you) that would participate and submit news. That was the intent of the site, members to submit links, downloads, news stories and talk about them in the forum, but, oh well. I still have about 10 visits a day(besides you and me), but they just look and move on. |

| I saw the news you posted on the front page. Nice job Div'. I also checked out the movie trailer. I'm going to definately go and see the movie, hopefully on opening day so I can see it with all of my fellow Doomaholics. |
