I've never seriously shopped for one but they all seem to have pretty good pictues now. All I know is to pay attention to the response time. Viewsonic had a flat panel down to around 4ms latency, but that was back in March. Samsung supposedly has a 4 ms model too. LCDs also have a brightness rating which you may want to pay attention to as well. Oh, and make sure it has a DVI connection.

Well, I finally got my newly-built PC down to San Diego State and tested it out on the internet connection they have here. It's ok, but some flaws. I ping about the same here as I did at home, which is 80 miles away. The ping however is really jumpy. It'll stay stable at times, then other times it will jump from 60 to 120. Must be because of all the other users online in the dorms. My roommate is also into games too, which is pretty cool. But he doesn't play FPS games, he's mainly into World of Warcraft.

My desk is really small, so it's been really tough to adjust to this new playing environment. The monitor is a few inches away from my face because the monitor is so big and the desk is so small; unlike at home, where I had the monitor about 1 1/2 to 2 feet away. I also have my keyboard and mouse in slightly different positions now (since the desk is so small and the monitor takes up a huge chunk of it). So I was really rusty while playing today (not to mention I havn't played in about a week).

I have been thinking about buying a new monitor, one of those flat-panel LCD Digital monitors that take up less space. But if I'm going to spend hundreds of dollars on a new monitor, it's got to be one that shows no "ghosts", and instead, shows everything on the screen in the game crisp and clear, like a regular tube monitor. Any suggestions anyone?
