I heard that also about a new franchize. Although now that they had raven and activision etc. do Quake4, they could let them do a five while they work on thier new stuff. It almost seemed like that was the plan with quake4, turn it over to someone else and sit back and collect the money while working on something new and interesting. It's fun when it's something new, but to keep doing the same thing gets old.

I just thought that the "hint" at the end was a little to obvious, not subtle at all. Who knows, only the future will tell.

Okay, now I've FINALLY beat the game. Excellent game, I'd give it an A- for a grade.

The game's textures/graphics are very beautiful, especially the sky of the Strogg world. The game has good weapons. Although each weapon each has its own pros and cons, I thought overall Raven did a good job.

One bad thing about the game though was the ammo bug, which I mentioned in an earlier post.

Do I think there will be a Quake 5? Although the game ending does give a *hint* about it, I think not. I remember reading an article on an interview with one of the id guys (I think it was CEO Todd Hollenshead or Designer Tim Willits) about a year ago, and they said that after Doom 3 and Quake 4, they are going to drop making games for those two, and start working on a totally new game. One with a completely new storyline and world.

The flying women Strogg that teleport in and out are the Iron Maiden's from Quake 2, and the guys with the shields are the Gladiators, also from Quake 2. The Iron Maidens are mediocre, but the Gladiators are tough, mainly because they are so accurate with their shoulder-mounted railgun, and they can use a shield to block your shots. What I usually do against them is find some cover to avoid their shots, and use the grenade launcher and lob grenades at their feet, because they can't block with their shield that low.

I like the railgun for Q4, but they there are still some things about it that Raven Software should've done. I think the railgun still needs to be a little stronger, it doesn't pack as much of a punch as the Q2 and Q3A ones do. They also should have made the clip amount be at least 5, 3 slugs is too little of a ammo amount for a weapon of that strength.

So you've beat the game already? Damn, you did beat me! Oh well, gg. I'm only at the part where I finished activating the first tower and am on my way to the second tower. I've had so much schoolwork to do, especially for the past week.

I havn't had much time for myself at all. I was on a DM server a few nights ago playing on the revived version of q3dm17. I was playing until the wee-hours of the morning, and saw a couple familiar names there. CHEESEQUAKE from the 1.11/1.16 Q3A, and AxMaN from 1.32.

I did it!!! I did it!!!!!!... I finished the single player. (in easy mode) Man that last guy was tough. My 9 yr old son had to tell me how to beat him. Another one of those tricky kills. Not just shoot the guy allot, but a certain way to killl him. Shocked So where are you Insex? Have you finished yet? I can't be done before you, no way.

Seemed a little short. Not as long as Doom3, but better in a way. Doom 3 had allot of the same hallways but quake 4 is none repetitive. New stuff around every corner. The end of the game has a line that leads you to believe that there will be a Quake 5. Well, on to multiplayer!!!

OK, I've activated the three towers or whatever they are called and am heading toward the nexus core. Had one big mofo to beat after the last tower. Big guy flying over head. Tough one to kill, but did it first try, (no health left) but beat him. Starting to get harder and harder. Those floating ladies that respawn on ya are a bitch, and those guys with the shields are a bitch too. I end up waisting allot of ammo on them.

Love the Rocket launcher, but not enough ammo for it. Same with the Grenade launcher. Real handy when entering a room with allot of bad guys. The anti matter gun is sweet, but the projectile moves too slow. And the rail gun is a pain. I think you get like 3 shots then have to reload. Not to mention the standard waite time between shots.

All in all, I love the first person. The muti is getting there. Servers with better pings are starting to show up. I found a DM server tonight with 16 players, and I had no lagg. SWEET. I added it to the "Quake4 Servers" in the main menu.

I'm at the beginning of the Putrification Center now. If you're talking about the Sterilization Station that involves stacking the barrels to reach the bridge above you, then it's the map after that.

Yea, I agree. The walker is REALLY slow. They should've made it walk faster. Also to strafe to the side with the walker, there was a split second delay for it to actually register and make the walker sidestep. I thought the hovertank was the better vehicle, mainly because it could move faster.

I found one bug in the game that you should be aware of. Sometimes when picking up ammo, it doesn't add to your ammo count. To make sure you don't get screwed by this, whip out the gun that the ammo is for before you pick it up, to make sure it adds to your ammo supply. Because there were a couple times in the game where I would pick up ammo for a weapon, then I would whip out the weapon after I picked up the ammo, and the numbers were the same as before I picked up the ammo.

OK, insex where are you? I just got done getting the sterilization station back on line.

That giant spider when your in the mech walker was a bitch. I kept wanting to run or jibe to the side to dodge and that thing moves slow. Took a few times to get past him. Found a hiding place to pop out from and hit him with rockets.

Bet your done with it already, huh?

Been Stroggified, and movin ahead. The damn multiplayer is slowing down my progress in single player. I thought that being part strogg that they might not attack me, but I guess they can tell. Darn, I thought I could just walk through a couple levels protecting my men. Oh well, on to more.

The first thing I've noticed about this game is that the enemies are no joke. They are a lot tougher than any other single player game that I've played, and the A.I. is so smart too. My first try at the beginning lasted for about 1 minute. I went into the installation with a guy from Badger Squad, and after I was hit two or three times, I died. So all the rumors about people saying that this was going to be the type of game where you can't just bullrush enemies, and actually have to duck and cover, are true.

You mean you help me. lol I've already started it and have gotten past about 3 or 4 loadings. My son is playing this one, doesn't scare him like Doom3. We started on the easy dificulty "private" so it's not that hard. We are stuck at the hoover tank right now trying to get used to it. So far the problems I had were getting lost. They tell you to go somewhere and meat up with someone and I have no clue. So I have to just run all over the place till I stumble on the right place. I just have bad short term memory. My Son remembers and starts yelling at me which way to go Shocked

I'm game, lets do it...

Ok Div', looks like it's you and me again. This time, to tackle Quake 4. You ready to work on single player together again? Like we did on Doom 3 and Doom 3 Resurrection of Evil.
