| I think it's a bug in baseq3 Q3A. When you ping 48 or lower to a server, it will always shows your ping as 48, even when it's really 36 or 24. So if you always see your ping as 48, it's really 48 or something lower. |

OK, I've noticed this on a couple servers, Thunder being the latest one. What's with the common pings? It must be a server setting where it throttles your ping to a set point. It's set at 48 on Thunder. If you play there, pay attention to your ping and everyone elses. I was there the other night, and there were 8 players, and all but two had a constant 48 ping. The two non 48 players had pings above 100. So what is this all about? Does anyone know the poop on what this is for, or what this is supposed to do other than screw me up? LOL You can tell it's some kind of setting, because there is no fluctuation. It stays steady at 48. So when my true ping fluctuates, it screws your timing, it's like you need to always adjust your timenudge or something.
Anyone? |
