Well, you can get around not seeing it in the browser list by entering it in yourself. You would need to find out your friends IP address (if they are the one running the server) or give them yours (if your running it) Then once the server is running, instead of using the browse button, use the specify button and enter the ip address. You will have to put in the port also, so it would look something like 123.345.567.3:27960 or whatever the ip and port you create the server on. The default port is 27960, but you can specify a different one when starting the server. so make sure all the numbers are right and you will connect fine. Once you have all the numbers correct, and you still can't connect, then that would be a firewall issue or something like that. At least you would be eliminating the game from the connection problem.
Hope that get's ya going.

Hey,
i've played quake a little bit but to be honest i totally suck at deathmatch, considering i get shot to pieces the second i go in a deathmatch room i decided to buy my mate a copy so i could play him one on one, only problem is everytime either of us create a non-dedicated server the other cant see the server in the list?
I've been scouring the net trying to find the solution but only find a load of stuff about mods and consoles and i get confussed.
i've added quake to my accept list on my firewall so it cant be that.
Anyone got any idea what it might be and would be nice enough to help me out that would be really nice, i hate sucking at this game and need practice in a place where i can walk for 2 seconds without dying!
cheers for reading. |
